About Us

Our History

Blackland Group, LLC was formed to make private equity investments in companies where the expertise of its principals in operations improvement, corporate strategy and marketing can create significant shareholder value.  Blackland Group, LLC founders, Michael George and Michael George, Sr., were on the management team of George Group Consulting, L.P., the leading consultant in Lean Six Sigma.  In this role, the founders regularly worked with senior leadership of Global 1000 companies and with every branch of the U.S. military in developing and implementing strategies around operations improvement. 

The Principals grew that organization into a significant player in the Management Consulting industry, and subsequently sold it to Accenture in 2007. 

During this time, the Principals also gained experience in successful value-added private equity investments.  Two of the four of these investments generated IRR’s of greater than 189% with average holding periods of 2.5 years.  More information on all the private equity investments is available upon request.
